Catholic Mission Ambassador

Saturday 24th Oct
As young people we are incredibly fortunate to have access to education, food, healthcare, and the opportunity to grow our faith. But we would like to share the story of children whose daily lives look very different from ours.
This year, Catholic Mission is supporting communities in Malawi, where many families face immense challenges. Some children walk up to 10 kilometres every day just to reach school. For children living with a disability, that journey can be even more difficult.
One young boy is Yamikani. Every day he walks a long distance along rough roads to attend school. Sometimes the pain in his legs becomes so great that his mother carries him on her back, so he won’t miss out on learning.
His story reminds us that something many of us take for granted is going to school and it is a gift that not every child can easily access.
Through the local church in Malawi, and with the support of Catholic Mission, a new primary school is being built closer to where these families live. This will provide children with a safer journey, a quality education, nutritious meals, and the opportunity to dream about a brighter future.
We invite you to consider supporting this appeal. Your generosity will help provide classrooms, school supplies, meals, and hope to children and families in Malawi.
On behalf of our school, Catholic Mission, and especially the children and families in Malawi, thank you.

Socktober appeal

Thursday 15th Oct
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. The fundraiser closes tomorrow with the school soccer shootout. Hoping Fitzroy can land some goals for more points in the house competition. A fun day for all with silly socks for Socktober. We are all very proud of Emma’s efforts in this year’s fundraiser and all students who have participated, what an amazing effort!

Socktober shootout

Wednesday 7th Oct
Thank you for those who have donated. You are helping the students of OLOL, and Emma’s house Fitzroy, kick goals for good on the Socktober Soccer Shootout Day which takes  place on Friday 16 October. There is still more time to donate for anyone who wishes to.
Socktober is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about compassion, solidarity and global mission while supporting Catholic Mission's work in Malawi, where communities are working to improve access to education, clean water and opportunities for children and families.

Please donate
